Handita is owned and operated by Markaba App SARL SARLAU, a company registered in Morocco (77 RUE MOHAMED SMIHA ETAGE 10 N°57 CASABLANCA). References to "Handita," "we," "our," or "us" throughout this Privacy Policy refer to Markaba App SARL SARLAU.

1. Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy explains how Markaba App SARL SARLAU collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Handita mobile applications (iOS and Android) and website (https://handita.com). This policy applies globally, subject to mandatory local regulations in your jurisdiction.

2. Categories of Information Collected

  • Registration & Profile: Username, name, birth date or age information, email, and authentication credentials.
  • User-Generated Content: Profile photos, posts, comments, reactions, and other media you actively upload.
  • Communications: Messages and attachments. Note: Handita implements standard transit encryption. End-to-end encryption is only applicable to specific modes when explicitly designated in the app UI.
  • Marketplace Data: Listings, orders, and transaction-related information when you buy or sell.
  • Handita Plus: Subscription status and store purchase metadata when premium features are enabled.
  • Identity Verification: Identity documents processed via authorized third-party verification providers (when enabled to prevent fraud).
  • Feedback & Moderation: Customer feedback (including uploaded screenshots), reports, appeals, blocks, and moderation records.
  • Technical Data: Device model, operating system, app version, IP address, security logs, and diagnostic information.
  • Notifications: Push notification tokens and delivery status data.
  • Cookies: Essential cookies or similar local storage technologies used on the web to maintain sessions and secure forms.
  • AI Processing: Data provided to Handita AI is processed to generate responses only when you actively engage with the AI feature.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing

We process your data based on contract fulfillment, legitimate interest, consent, or legal obligations, specifically to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Handita application.
  • Process and intermediate Marketplace transactions.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraud.
  • Respond to customer support requests and process appeals.

4. How Information is Shared

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with strictly vetted partners and under appropriate safeguards:

  • Infrastructure Providers: Cloud hosting and secure object storage providers.
  • Authentication & Communication: SMS, email, WhatsApp, and push-notification delivery providers.
  • Third-Party Services: Identity-verification APIs, Apple StoreKit/Google Play Billing (for subscriptions), and essential analytics/error-monitoring providers.
  • Internal Access: Authorized employees, feedback managers, and appeal reviewers operate under strict role-based access control. They receive only the minimum information required for their roles and do not have unmonitored access to the general user directory.
  • Legal & Safety: Legal authorities or fraud/safety partners when mandated by law or necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or illegal activity.

5. Data Retention, Account Deletion & Exceptions

We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion (via /account-deletion):

  • Profile data, posts, and general activity logs are queued for permanent deletion.
  • Exceptions: Limited information (e.g., transaction records, fraud-prevention identifiers, and moderation ban records) is retained strictly to comply with financial regulations, resolve active legal claims, or prevent previously banned users from circumventing safety systems.

6. User Rights

7. Security Measures & Children's Privacy

We implement industry-standard organizational and technical safeguards to protect your data. However, no electronic transmission or storage system is 100% secure.

Handita is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or higher, depending on the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing). We will delete accounts found belonging to underage users.
